TN Promise Students complete your FAFSA and CU Application by February 15

Tennessee students who completed the Tennessee Promise application by Nov. 1 and intend to graduate from high school in the spring of 2015 are eligible to earn an associate’s degree from Cumberland University tuition free - regardless of income status.

Cumberland University is pleased to announce participation in the Tennessee Promise scholarship for Tennessee high school graduates beginning with the Class of 2015. The program is a last-dollar scholarship, meaning it will cover college costs not met through Pell, HOPE, or TSAA up to the average tuition and mandatory fees at Tennessee public community colleges.

In order to receive the Tennessee Promise scholarship it is mandatory that students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) by February 15, 2015. For assistance completing the FASFA refer to the Federal Student Aid help page (fafsa.ed.gov/help.htm).

Steps to be taken immediately:

  • Complete the FASFA by Feb. 15

  • Attend mandatory mentoring meetings

  • Enroll at Cumberland University for the Fall 2015 semester

Cumberland University will offer the following Associate Degrees:  Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Business (AAB), Associate in Arts in Criminal Justice (AA in CJ), Associate in Arts in Education (AA in Ed), and the Associate in Science.
