CU Board of Trust Chairman named to national board

11/9/2014

Cumberland University Chairman of the Board, Mr. Bob McDonald, was recently invited to serve as a board member of the newly formed Andrew Jackson Foundation.

The board recently received a new name and focus on America’s seventh president.

He will serve along with some nationally known figures such as National Public Radio journalist Mara Liasson and two Pulitzer Prize winners, historian Jon Meacham and Charles Overby, former CEO of the Freedom Forum and the Newseum.

The name change and the addition of new board members are part of a multiyear plan that will refocus attention to Jackson and his presidency, on his relevance to the 21st century and on the historic site he called home, The Hermitage.

McDonald is president and chief executive officer of CedarStone Bank. A Nashville native, he has also been chairman of United Way of Wilson County and the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce.
