Bridging the Gap: Graduate Art Exhibit
Kristen Sisco Graduate Art Exhibit
The Adams Gallery at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. Will present the neon exhibit, "Bridging the Gap," by Cumberland M.A. Graduate, Kristen Sisco. The exhibit will be open from Monday, April 14, 2014 through Friday April 18, 2014. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Sisco is a Pre-K educator, whose love for teaching, inspired her to create a neon series translated from her own 4 year old students. Through the exhibit, "Bridging the Gap," a glimpse of a refined representation of childhood art is found. The students' expression if used as the scaffold to create everyday surroundings. The works are intended to showcase the obnoxious, yet simplistic qualities of neon, paired with the energy and honesty of children's artwork. "Bridging the Gap" is a celebration of children's creativity in a new light.
Kristen Sisco graduated, December 2013, with a M.A. in Fine Arts. The exhibit, "Bridging the Gap," is Sisco's master's thesis, in fulfillment to the M.A. in Fine Arts degree at Cumberland University.
