Turek set to speak at CU

LEBANON, Tenn. – Trent Turek, former adidas and Reebok sales manager, General Manager of Oakland [CA] Coliseum and Arena, Operations Director at Phillips Arena in Atlanta, and Diamond Suites manager at Comiskey Park in Chicago, will speak this Wednesday, March 24, at Cumberland University on his experiences in the sports and entertainment industries over the last 20 years.
Turek will speak to students in the School of Education majoring in Sport Management and Fitness and Wellness along with members of Students Helping Achieve Physical Fitness & Exercise (SHAPE) in the tiered classroom of Labry Hall.
Turek is an accomplished sales and operations management professional with broad and extensive experience leading teams through successful account targeting, development and execution. Strengths include providing strategy and managerial direction that yields high-impact, cost effective, marketing strategies, campaigns and events that consistently achieve results – customer acquisition and revenue generation along with brand differentiation in the marketplace.
He is a superior customer relationship builder that consistently meets objectives and finds ways to increase profitability. Turek has shown an ability to excel in fast-paced, high-volume, multi-tasking environments and has in-depth experience with interpreting and utilizing financial statements to grow and maximize profitability.  
His accomplishments include business development, multi-unit and event operations, sales management, negotiations, project management and client satisfaction.
Turek is currently working in sales for The Davis Groupe, serving as client-customer liaison for key accounts such as Bridgestone – Nashville facility, Honeywell – Aerospace, Nissan North America – Tennessee and Toyota Motor Manufacturing –
He previously worked for six years as Territory Sales Manager, representing both the Adidas and Reebok licensed brands for the adult and youth apparel and headwear division.
From 2001-03 Turek provided account management and generated new food service contract sales in the business & institution, education and healthcare markets for Valley Services, Inc., working primarily in Alabama and Georgia.
His greatest involvement in sports and entertainment came during his stint from 1989-2000 at The Levy Restaurants. He began as an intern in the luxury suites at Comiskey Park before becoming a manager and then the General Manager of Diamond Suites at Comiskey.
He served three years as General Manager of Oracle Arena, home of the Golden State Warriors, and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, home to the Oakland Raiders and Oakland A’s. He was then the Assistant Director of Operations at Phillips Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers, when the 21,000-seat facility opened in 1999.
Turek is a graduate of the University of Denver with a bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Hotel Restaurant Management.
