TWA WordFest '09 Bound for Cumberland

On June 12-13, Cumberland University will host the Tennessee Writers Alliance '09 WordFest, a two-day event focused on writing and literature and slated to feature a number of guest speakers, workshops and readings.

Best-selling author Eric Wilson will serve as they keynote speaker for the '09 Wordfest. Wilson is the author of a supernatural suspense trilogy known as Jerusalem's Undead: Field of Blood and Valley of Bones. Haunt of Jackals is due to be released in August 2009. Other works by Wilson include Dark to Mortal Eyes, Expiration Date, A Shred of Truth and novelizations of the movies Fireproof, Flywheel and Facing the Giants. Fireproof (novelization of the movie) spent three months on the New York Times' best-seller list.

Workshop presenters include Wyatt Prunty (poetry), Leon Alligood (multimedia), Dwight Lewis (journalism), J.T. Ellison (mystery), Whitney Ferre (creativity coach), and Kathryn Knight and Etta Wilson (manuscript - first pages). A Friday evening reception at Sherlock's Books will feature readings by William Gay and J. Wes Yoder as well as open mic readings, book signings and music in the courtyard.
