Remaining Football Games Promise Fun for All

Cumberland University will sponsor a host of community and student activities for the remainder of its home football games, beginning Saturday, Oct. 18 when the Bulldogs host UVA-Wise at 1:30 p.m. at Lindsey Donnel Stadium.

The Bulldogs' Nov. 1 contest versus Shorter College will be Backyard Fun Day, with a hot wing cook-off for student organizations and flag football games for the students as well.

The University will sponsor a bonfire and spirit rally along with an "American Idol" competition and Battle of the Bands on Friday, Nov. 7 to kick off the following day's contest versus Kentucky Christian University. On gameday versus KCU, there will be a community-wide chili cook-off and a corn-hole tournament.

The final home game of the season, Nov. 15 versus Lambuth, will be Senior Day for the football team and all of Cumberland's fall sports will be recognized at halftime. Patrons will be admitted to the game for free if they bring an unopened and unwrapped toy. A climbing wall and inflatables as well as a picture booth will also be available on the football practice field before the game.
