In conjunction with the Tennessee Career Center's Wilson County Office and UPS of America Inc., Cumberland University will host the Wilson County Job Fair on Thursday, April 10 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Dallas Floyd Gymnasium.

Open to the general public as well as Cumberland University students, the Wilson County Job Fair will play host to an estimated 40 employers, including Bank of America, Oreck of Cookeville, the Metro-Nashville Police Department and Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores.

"This event is for the entire Wilson County community. It will provide residents and students the opportunity to visit with employers and, potentially, to interview for positions with the companies represented," CU Senior Director of Student Affairs Brad Iftner said. "We'd encourage anyone who plans to attend to wear business attire and to bring several copies of his or her resumé to provide to potential employers."

CU staff will operate a shuttle service between the University and several nearby areas throughout the duration of the job fair in order to accommodate additional traffic. Staff will make stops every five to 10 minutes among various parking locations.

"Our regular classes will be in session throughout the day, and parking spaces in the vicinity of the gymnasium may be difficult to come by," CU Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Eddie Pawlawski said. "So, we've opted to operate a shuttle service in order to better serve both job seekers and employers. We're grateful that a number of nearby churches have offered their parking lots for our use."

Parking and shuttle service will be available at the following area churches:
  • First Baptist Church (227 E. Main St.)
  • First United Methodist Church (415 W. Main St.)
  • Immanuel Baptist Church (214 Castle Heights Ave.)
  • St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church (300 S. Tarver Ave.)
