On Wednesday, Nov. 12, the Cumberland University Office of Admissions will host a special workshop for guidance counselors across Tennessee, with informative sessions on an array of topics, including financial aid and the HOPE Scholarship program.

According to Director of Admissions and Recruitment Jason Brewer, the day-long workshop will offer guidance counselors an in-depth look at Cumberland, its students and its academic programs while providing valuable information about financial aid from the federal and state perspectives.

"Mr. James Snider, who is an outreach specialist with the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) will be on-hand to discuss the state's HOPE lottery scholarships and to provide updates from the TSAC," Brewer said. "Cumberland believes it is part of our responsibility to the community to provide area guidance counselors with access to current and relevant information as it pertains to students' options after graduation."

The 2008 Guidance Counselor Workshop at Cumberland University will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12. To reserve space or for more information, please contact Mr. Brewer at jbrewer@cumberland.edu or at 615.547.1280.
