CU Choirs to Host Dinner, Concert

A group of choirs from the Cumberland University School of Music & the Arts will host a special Italian Dinner and Spring Pops Concert on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12 at the University's historic Baird Chapel.

The event, a fundraiser for the University's next choral tour of Italy, will begin at 7 p.m. each night and will feature a number of familiar tunes along with an Italian dinner, according to Dr. Brian Kilian, professor of music and director of choral music at Cumberland University.

"The musical selections for this special dinner concert include several golden oldies, such as 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,' 'I Got Rhythm' and 'Summertime.' The night's festivities will also include performances by veteran Nashville singer Ginger Newman and a talented, up-and-coming local quartet known as Last Minute," Kilian said.

Tickets for the Italian Dinner and Spring Pops Concert are $20 per person. Reservations and payment must be finalized by Wednesday, April 9. For more information or to make reservations, please call 615.547.1364.
