The Campbell Learning Resources Center, located in the Vise University Library on the campus of Cumberland University, houses instructional materials for teachers in training, on the job professionals, faculty and staff. The collection, also known as the Curriculum Laboratory, has items available for checkout during regular library hours.

The mission of this center is to offer unique resources for students, faculty and staff to assist in the teaching of various subjects.
Progammic Information:
The Curriculum Laboratory contains representative collections of materials to support the teacher education program offered by Cumberland University. The objective of the center is to offer the best quality materials that we are able to acquire.
Description of Materials Collected:
Materials are divided into genres for easy access. Included in the collection of print materials are textbooks, curriculum guides, multi-size and multi-purpose books for small group usage, ideas for enhancing classroom activities, and information from the World Wide Web for those wishing to expand their resources.
Non-Print Materials:
Examples of non-print materials available in the Curriculum Laboratory include: kits, audiocassettes, videocassettes, games, and software. Manipulatives available include: kits, games, educational toys and other resources to aid the process of learning.
Level and Scope:
Books and non-print materials appropriate for pre-school, elementary and secondary grades are purchased.
Language:
The primary language of materials in the collection is English. There are, however, some texts available for other languages.
Textbooks:
Textbooks in the following genres are available:
Biology, Driver's Education, English, Geography, Handwriting, Health, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Reading, Science, Special Education and Spelling.
Curriculum Guides:
The collection includes examples of state and local curriculum guides.
Testing Materials:
Testing materials are included and may be checked out. These items are housed on the first range of the Curriculum Laboratory.
Software:
The collection of software is available for tutorial use.
Gifts:
Gifts of print and non-print materials are welcomed. However, they will be added to the collection only if they meet the same criteria for items purchased for the library.
Weeding:
In an effort to keep the collection current, out-of-date items are weeded on a regular basis.
Arrangement:
Each item is clearly labeled and arranged for easy access. Manipulatives are housed together, as are videos, audios and reading materials.
Professional Literature:
Materials that are designed to help teachers in the instructional process are collected. Some areas include: Activity books with ideas to aid the teaching process and teacher editions that include both the student editions and activities designed to move the lesson along.
Periodicals:
Periodicals that can enhance the teaching professional are housed in the Vise Library’s general collection. Among those titles are: Instructor, Math Teacher, Reading Teacher, Music Teacher, Exceptional Children, and more. Housed in the Curriculum Laboratory are the issues of MAILBOX magazine.
