Welcome to the Vise Library! Here you will find information about what services are available to you as a student taking classes at off-campus locations. The library staff wants to offer you the same quality service that we give to students who come through our doors every day. As distance education students, you have access to a wealth of electronic information through the library's online databases and e-books.
Ask a Librarian: Call, e-mail or instant message a librarian for assistance during all
hours that we are open.
Off-campus access:
Contact the library to obtain the list of passwords required to log into the databases from off-campus.
Subject guides: Start here for your research projects. Subject guides include selected databases and web sites for specific subject areas.
Request library materials: Students living outside of Wilson and surrounding counties (Davidson, Rutherford, Cannon, Dekalb, Smith, Trousdale and Sumner) may request that library books, videos, and other materials be mailed to them at no cost. Return postage is the responsibility of the student. Materials are considered late and subject to fines if postmarked after the due date. For articles that we own, we will e-mail or fax copies to you depending on your preference. Photocopies of journal articles do not need to be returned.
Please note that this process will take at least ten business days, so plan accordingly. Make a request by contacting Amber Woodard at
awoodard@cumberland.edu.
