The role of the library liaison is to be an information resource to the faculty and students within the respective academic programs. The liaison will be the School's primary contact person in the library, as well as the library's primary contact person on matters related to the assigned School.
Major liaison responsibilities include:
- Being familiar with the library's holdings that support the curriculum of the academic departments and making recommendations when needed to strengthen collection resources
- Creating subject guides and other materials to assist with locating and using relevant resources
- Providing instruction services such as in-class demonstrations and individual research consultations
- Being familiar with the trends and concerns of the School as well as the information needs and research interests of its faculty and students
