Handbell Ensemble

Concert Band

Cumberland University's Concert Band rehearses and performs late in the fall semester and throughout the spring semester. Performances include the Holiday Concert in December, the Spring Concert in March (with the choral department) and the Down Beat Dinner (with the Jazz Band) in April. This band is open to all qualified university students who play brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. Scholarships are available to qualified Cumberland University students. A student does not have to be a music major to qualify for a band scholarship.

Small (Chamber) Ensembles

Instrumental musicians at Cumberland University can be involved in a variety of Small Chamber Ensembles that lead to a greater level of musicianship. These ensembles include Jazz Combo, Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, Tuba Ensemble, Handbell Choir, Percussion Ensemble, Trombone Ensemble and String Ensemble. These ensembles are available when there is sufficient student interest.
