Friday, October 5

 

AOII Alumnae Tea at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Harvill C. Eaton

5:00-7:00 PM

 

The Lambda Omicron chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi would like to invite all of our AOII alumnae to our First Annual Alumnae Tea at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Harvill C. Eaton. Please contact Tara Crawford at taracrawford29@hotmail.com with any questions.  We look forward to seeing you there! 

 

Free Basketball Clinic and Dunking Contest in the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center

5:30 - 7:30 PM

Basketball Madness! Featuring the men’s and women’s basketball programs and including a kids clinic for ages 6-13.  You won’t want to miss the 3-point and slam dunk contest with CU students and an autograph session with both teams. The Cumberland coaching staff and men’s and women’s players will conduct the kids’ clinic at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center. 

 

Sports Hall of Fame Dinner in Baird Chapel

6:00 - 8:00 PM

Former Cumberland University athletes and coaches Renae Williams (women's basketball), Doug Binkley (football), Chuck MacFarlane (baseball) and Rick Reeves (coach) will be inducted in the 26th class of the CU Sports Hall of Fame. 

 

Alumni Part on the Patio (all class years) at the Catron Alumni House

7:00 - 10:00 PM

Join in on the fun on Friday night for the Alumni Party on the Patio. It will be a great night of music, food, drinks and fun catching up with classmates. The event will take place on the patio of the Catron Alumni House (formerly the CU president’s home).

Preview Day for New Students begins in the Heydel Fine Arts Center

8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

 

For our new students, here’s your chance to meet current students, tour campus, tour our residence halls, have lunch on us in our newly renovated Phillips Dining Hall, meet with faculty about discuss academics, and receive FREE tickets to attend a CU athletic event.

 

Alumni Baseball Breakfast and Game
Woody Hunt Book Signing at Benton Jennings Hitting Facility  

8:00 AM 

Book signing to take place during breakfast, game to follow breakfast. 

The semi-annual baseball breakfast and alumni game takes place at Ernest L. Stockton Field-Woody Hunt Stadium. Starting at 8:30 a.m. in the Benton Jennings Center, breakfast is served for the alumni group before the game takes place around 10 a.m.  

Dawg Dash (5k Run/Walk) starts near Labry Hall

8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Join us for Cumberland University's 3rd annual Dawg Dash 5k Run/Walk. This event supports scholarships for deserving CU students and helps kick off Homecoming weekend at CU. No pets please.

Campus Tour for Alumni begins in the Heydel Fine Arts Center

10:00 - 10:45 AM

The campus of Cumberland University may look a little different from the time you were here.  Yet, at the same time, old familiar places still remain.  Let our admissions staff take you on a tour of what’s new and refresh your memory of what it was like during your days at CU.  The tour will begin at the Heydel Fine Arts Center on the West Spring Street side of campus.

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Get in the spirit and enjoy free food, live music, games, giveaways, kids’ zone and more at the new home of CU football!  Come out and support your Bulldogs and mingle with your fellow alumni and community members.  Shuttles from campus to the game will be available.

Homecoming Football Game (vs. Union College) at Nokes-Lasater Field

1:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Cumberland takes on Union College in the annual Homecoming game at Nokes-Lasater Field. Check out the “new” 5,000-seat football facility that is just a mile from the main campus and adjacent to the CU School of Nursing.  Our Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned at halftime.  You won’t want to miss the Distinguished Alumni Awards which will be announced between the 3rd and 4th quarters.  Shuttles from campus to the game will be available.

 

Junior College Years Reunion Dinner in Baird Chapel

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Reminisce with your fellow alumni from the junior college years of Cumberland University, 1957-1983.  Before dinner, we’ll have a reception, and during dinner, an exciting program.  With music, dancing and more fun in store, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to make history at Cumberland University at our first JuCo reunion!  Dressy casual.  Register online at reunion.cumberland.edu.
