Academic Load

Class Attendance
Peer as well as faculty interaction is a very important component in the graduate learning process. Thus, the class attendance of each student is a significant factor in the teaching and learning environment, and student attendance in class is an important expectation of the program. A student is expected to discuss any absence with his/her instructor. In general, faculty members will assist the student in securing the information missed due to an emergency absence.

Excused, work-related absences must be verified in writing by the employment supervisor of the student. In general, faculty members will assist the student in securing the information missed due to an emergency absence. All cellular telephones and paging devices must be turned off during class and testing periods.

Tuition and Fees
The 2010-2011 graduate tuition rate is $735 per hour. For enrollees taking seven (7) semester hours the tuition is $5,145. During the one semester the M.S.P. students take eight (8) semester hours, the tuition would be $5,580. There is no activity fee for M.S.P. enrollees. A graduation fee of $225 is charged.

Payment Plan
A no-interest budget plan ("FACTS") is available for M.S. graduate students. A $35-per-semester or a $50 annual enrollment fee is charged. In order to participate, a student must complete an "Automatic Tuition Payment Agreement Form" which authorizes their bank to deduct tuition charges from a checking and/or savings account on specific dates during the semester. A voided check must be supplied when the appropriate paperwork is completed. This plan may also be used with a valid MasterCard/Visa/Discover/American Express credit card. Students considering using the "FACTS" payment plan should read the current information brochure carefully. This pamphlet is available in the Business Office of the University.

Scholarship Availability
A selective admission student would be able to qualify for a special graduate scholarship. Awards will be made based on previous academic performance and the perceived potential for success in both this academic program and in the current/future employment arena. Individual scholarship students are encouraged to seek additional funding and/or reimbursement from their employing agencies. A per month payment plan and/or a student loan program will be made available on tuition balances due after all scholarship monies have been applied to a student account. The University accepts both personal checks and MasterCard/Visa. The tuition cost(s) for scholarship students will be calculated at the following rate:

  • $345 per semester hour
  • $2,145 per semester (taking seven [7] hours)
  • $2,760 per semester (taking eight [8] hours)
