Trudy has been in nursing since 1980 and has worked in inpatient, outpatient, and research roles. She loves the field of obstetrics (participating in the wonders of childbirth is very rewarding) and has a strong interest in high risk pregnancies and patient education. After working in the field for many years, she wanted to "give back" to the profession. This has led to sharing her skills and knowledge with future nurses in the role of an educator. She has enjoyed working with nursing students in both the classroom and in clinical. It's exciting when everything comes together for them. She's most happy to see them going on to become great healthcare providers.
Trudy was born in Canada, but grew up in Michigan. She speaks German and has studied a wide variety of subjects. Once she moved to the south, she never left and now is an "honorary southerner" according to her husband, Brent. They have one adult child. Her greatest passions are photography and travel. She takes photography trips and workshops whenever possible. When not teaching, she frequently is out in nature with her camera. She plans to continue to travel all over the world to try to eventually see its wonders.
