Dr. Connie Wright worked full time at Cumberland University from 1983 until 2001, holding the posi-tions of Counselor, Director of Student Development, and Associate Professor of Psychology.  Since 2008, she has been employed at Cumberland as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology.

Dr. Wright helped develop the psychology major at Cumberland University and has served as the lead teacher in psychology.  She has taught introductory psychology courses, as well as upper-level and graduate courses in psychology.  Some of the courses she has taught in recent years include General Psychology, Psychology of Human Growth and Development, Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Counseling, and Psychology of Death and Dying.  Dr. Wright tries to make each course relevant to the student's personal life experience, as well as to their future professional plans.  Whether the student is a psychology major, taking a psychology course as a requirement for another major, or just taking the course as an elective, she hopes each student will leave the course with an appreciation for the subject matter and with information they can use personally and professionally.

Dr. Wright is married to David Wright and has two sons, Jordan (a 2011 Master's degree graduate of Belmont University) and Brendan (a freshman at Tennessee Tech).  They live in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
