Abbi Terveer is a native of Lima, Ohio and arrived at Cumberland University in September 2010 to assume the role as Director of Student Success and Retention. Her mission is to provide programming and support that enables students to be successful at Cumberland University and is committed to providing a smooth transition from high school to college for first-time freshmen.

Ms Terveer moved to middle Tennessee from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she held the position as Career and Life Skills Coordinator for Student Athletes at the University of Pittsburgh with her primary responsibilities including developing professional and career skills, networking and etiquette training, as well as assisting the student athletes through life transitions. She also provided programming to Pitt athletes and teams relating to academic and athletic achievement, career development and graduate school preparation, community service, personal development, health and wellness, leadership and character development, and financial education. Ms Terveer is a Board Certified Coach specializing in life transitions, sport psychology and performance, as well as goals and decision making as she is devoted to assisting young adults in implementing success into their daily lives. 

Abbi Terveer is a graduate of the University of Tennessee – Knoxville where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with high honors as well as a Master of Science degree in Sport Psychology. While at Tennessee, Ms Terveer was a two time All American swimmer and two year team captain for the Lady Vol Swimming and Diving Team.
