Dr. Bradley Jordan began teaching at Cumberland University in 2013 as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Health and Human Performance.  Prior to his arrival at Cumberland University, Dr. Jordan was an assistant professor of exercise physiology at Valdosta State University (VSU) in Valdosta, Georgia and also had prior collegiate teaching experience in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, TN.

Dr. Jordan, a native of Lebanon, TN, is a proud alumnus of Cumberland University holding a B.S. in Physical Education. He also holds both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Exercise Science from Middle Tennessee State University. In addition, Dr. Jordan is a licensed Physical Education Teacher (Grades K-12) through the State of Tennessee and is also credentialed with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Certified Health Fitness Specialist.

Dr. Jordan’s primary research interest is in ergogenic aids to sports performance with particular interest in caffeine supplementation and its effect on both aerobic and anaerobic sports performance. Dr. Jordan has peer-reviewed conference presentations at the state and national level as well as peer-reviewed article publications and peer-reviewed published abstracts.

Outside of academics, Dr. Jordan is passionate about living an active and healthy lifestyle. Dr. Jordan is an avid runner having completed numerous 5K, 10K half-marathon and marathon races. In addition, he enjoys fishing, watching/playing/coaching sports, and spending time with his family.
