James Holbrook began at Cumberland University in the fall of 2010. Prior to his arrival at the University, he spent 18 years teaching at the college level, primarily in the area of sport management. Dr. Holbrook has gained experience in the area of sport management by serving many years as a professor and developing sport management curricular programs for other colleges, as well as his own. He has served several years as a Department Chair and/or Department Coordinator and has several publications and presentation that include books and journal articles, as well as regional and national peer-reviewed presentations.
Dr. Holbrook holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, with a minor in Marketing from Morehead State University, a Masters of Science in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Doctor of Arts in Physical Education from Middle Tennessee State University. He has held many professional offices, including three years as the Chair for the SDAAHPERD Sport Management Council.
