Dr. James Farris is an adjunct faculty member at Cumberland University, one of the distinguished institutions of higher learning in the south. Dr. Farris obtained his terminal degree from The University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1982. Dr. Farris commands extensive experience in many facets of the healthcare industry. He has held positions with some of Tennessee's most prominent educational and private healthcare institutions. His expertise includes healthcare operations and management as well as developing, marketing and promoting services that have raised the level of Tennessee's health standards and services.  In addition to his healthcare experience, Dr. Farris has served as a consultant with 2nd Generation Capital to research and develop a business plan for a de novo business, Compass Oncology, a disease management company launched in 2006. He has also served as adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee Colleges of Education and Human Ecology. He presently resides in Brentwood, Tennessee.
