Appointed as an Instructor at the Jeannette C. Rudy School of Nursing in August 2012, Mr. Andrew 'AJ' Donadio received his B.S. in Nursing from The University of South Alabama (Magna Cum Laude) in May 1999 and his Master of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University Apr 2012.  Prior to his appointment, he spent 24 years in the U.S. Navy starting out enlisted as a Cryptology Technician and earning his commission in the Navy Nurse Corps in May 1999. 

Mr. Donadio's clinical area is Adult Health and Ambulatory Nursing; maintaining certification through the AACN in both areas, he currently co-teaches Medical/Surgical Nursing 1 (theory and clinical) and Foundations of Professional Nursing (clinical).  Prior to employment at Cumberland University his most recent clinical assignments were at Naval Hospital Pensacola as the Division Officer of the Ambulatory Care Unit and Conscious Sedation Clinic as well as Assistant Officer in Charge of the Navy Detachment at the Joint Ambulatory Care Center, Pensacola, FL.  Non-clinically, he spent three years as the National Medical Programs Officer for Navy Recruiting Command.  

During his time as a Nurse Corps Officer, Mr. Donadio served at the National Naval Medical Center - Bethesda, MD; US Naval Hospital - Okinawa, Japan; Pensacola Naval Hospital - Pensacola, FL and Navy Recruiting Command - Millington, TN.  He deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism to Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay, Cuba form October 2005 - April 2006.   

Mr. Donadio's military awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award (two awards), Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Navy Meritorious Unit Award (two awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (two awards), National Defense Service Medal (two awards), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (nine awards), Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon (15 awards), Navy Expert Rifle Medal, Navy Expert Pistol Medal.
