After graduating from Salve Regina College in Newport, R.I. in 1984, Lynn Cable relocated to south Florida, where she taught for 12 years in a variety of Special Education classrooms and programs. This included working with children with severe-profound disabilities, autism and preschoolers with disabilities.

In 1996, she and her family moved to Middle Tennessee, and she began working as a Comprehensive Development teacher at Byars Dowdy Elementary School in Lebanon. Several years later, she was hired as a Special Education Specialist with the Lebanon Special School District. She is currently in her second year as Director of Special Education for the district. She says her philosophy about education -- specifically in working with children with disabilities -- is that she truly believes in and supports inclusive education to the maximum extent possible for all children.
