Rick Brown is a library technical assistant at Cumberland University’s Doris & Harry Vise Library and a communications coordinator with the Communications Office. Brown graduated from Cumberland University in Fall 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, minoring in History. Before arriving at Cumberland, Brown worked previously as a freelance writer and data entry/file clerk.

In Spring 2010, he began working in Vise Library as a Library Assistant and became a Library Technical Assistant in August 2011. His responsibilities as an LTA include cataloging library resources, maintaining the online catalog, ordering library materials, and providing circulation services, amongst other duties.

In June 2011, Brown became a Communications Coordinator with the Communications Office. His duties there include copywriting, editing, and photographing for a variety of university website materials and publications.

Brown is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, Alpha Chi, and Phi Theta Kappa. As an undergraduate, Brown won four annual student awards for his research, prose, and poetry, and his photography was exhibited in Cumberland’s 2009 Photography Show. He graduated valedictorian of his class.
