Mr. Lovin joined Cumberland University in July of 2010 as the Director of Residence Life and Greek Affairs. He oversees all aspects of the residence life operation, from assignments to programming to staff development and community building. Additionally, he is responsible for managing all facets of Greek life, the fraternities, and the sororities at Cumberland University. He has over 15 years experience in higher education, 9 years in administration at 4-year public and private institutions. His passion is helping young people grow within the residential environment to become model citizens.
Mr. Lovin has held positions in Academic Support for Athletics and Residence Life, while holding various positions and appointments in campus governance. He is a graduate of The University of Mississippi at Oxford with a BA in Criminal Justice Administration and a MA in Higher Education and Student Personnel. Mr. Lovin is a member of ACUHO-I, the preeminent professional association that supports and promotes the collegiate residential experience. Additionally, he has served as the state representative and editor for Tennessee in the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers (SEAHO). Originally from Kingston, TN, Mr. Lovin currently resides in Lebanon, TN and enjoys spending time driving the back roads of Tennessee, observing the history of the state, and creating learning opportunities and experiences for Cumberland students.
