Katie Arnold is in her 3rd year as the Athletic Training (AT) Program Director and in her 9th year overall in her service to Cumberland University.  She has served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, assistant athletic trainer, Interim Head Athletic Trainer/AT Program Director and now, as the AT Program Director.  She has experienced this program from every aspect and understands the importance of each individual position.  In her current role, she is responsible for maintaining Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation, increasing academic rigor, recruiting and overseeing the growth of the AT Program. In addition to her administrative duties she also instructs several courses within the AT Program and Health and Human Performance (HHP) curriculums.

Katie worked with the wrestling program at CU from 2006-13 and served as the athletic trainer for men's and women's tennis and men's soccer since 2009. During her tenure she also worked with the football and men's and women's golf programs (2008-09).

Prior to becoming the Athletic Training Program Director, the Jacksboro, Tennessee native earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Cumberland University.  She has a bachelor’s in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training (2006) and a master’s in Education (2008).  Currently, she is writing her dissertation in completion of her Doctorate in Health Education.  The athletic training program at Cumberland is truly where Katie’s vision lies.  She looks forward to watching the AT Program flourish as it continues to grow and LIVE (Learn Invest Visualize Excel).
