A native of Lebanon, Tenn., Rick Bell is a graduate of Cumberland University and Middle Tennessee State University and currently serves as president of the Cumberland University Alumni Association. At CU, he serves as a member of the Faculty Senate and as a member of the Finance and Physical Resources Committee. He has served as the lead history teacher (emphasis on the American West), and his research involves prostitution in frontier communities. In the fall of 2009, Rick served as the moderator for the session on Labor History at the 2009 Tennessee Conference of Historians hosted at Cumberland University. He regularly participates in an annual field experience trip to New Mexico each May, involving instruction and historical research of the region. Rick is also an active member of several community organizations, including the Lebanon Rotary Club and the James E. Ward Agriculture and Community Center Management Committee.
