Adjunct Professor
BIOGRAPHY:

Bill Gittens joined Cumberland University in 2015 and serves as an adjunct professor in Health and Human Performance department. He retired from Tennessee State University where he served as the Director of the Career Development Center.  He has served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Computer Science from 1996 through 1999.  He’s held numerous student oriented positions at TSU such as faculty advisor to the university Pep Club, faculty advisor to Epsilon Gamma Iota, an engineering service fraternity and a mentor with Leadership TSU.  He is a member in good standing of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.  He volunteers weekly at the Second Harvest Food Banks and participates in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Breakfast program which feeds homeless women and children in the Nashville area.  

 He is a three-time graduate of TSU receiving a Bachelor Science in Sociology in 1970, Master of Science in Counseling in 1991 and an Ed.D  in Higher Education in 1999.  He has one daughter, Ashley, who recently received her MS degree in Psychology.
