Since 2006, Dr. Henson has served the university in diverse capacities across campus. Currently, he is serving the University Provost as his Executive Director overseeing the Academic Success Center, a conglomerate of offices supporting the academic and social needs of the student body through tutoring, writing assistance, career service, spiritual and leadership development.
Dr. Henson is a member of the faculty serving the School of Humanities, Education, and the Arts. His current responsibilities include leading faculty assigned to the Foundations of Scholarship and Learning freshman seminar and instructing in several sections of FSL, teaching the Foundations of Online Learning Course in the RN-BSN program, two courses (Organizational Behavior and Conflict Resolution) in the Master of Public Service Management Program, and one course on Leadership Theory in the Master of Business Administration Program. His current committee assignments include chairing the General Education Core (GEC) Committee and serving on the Library Educational Resource Committee, Colloquium Committee, and the Dean’s Council.
A student of academic and social integration, Dr. Henson’s dissertation focused on the effects of social integration exercises on the retention of freshmen students participating in a first semester freshmen seminar.
A native of Manchester, Tennessee, Dr. Henson resides in Lebanon with his wife Rachel, his son Finley (Finn) and daughter Eleanor (Ellie). The Henson’s are also proud members of First Presbyterian Church, Lebanon.
