Teaching Experience:

Bill Huber joined Cumberland University in 2013. In his previous experience, he has taught all levels of musicians from beginning to collegiate. He has taught privately at many of the area high and middle schools, and also at Trevecca Nazarene University since 2002. He has been Artist in Residence at Blair School of Music, and has taught at summer jazz camps at the University of North Alabama, and clinics and master classes from Minnesota to Florida.  Performing Experience:  Bill Huber is the only trombonist ever to record with James Brown, perform on the Grand Ole Opry, and play the Rite of Spring — and almost everything in between. He has recorded with Bob Seeger, Delbert McClinton (Grammy nominated), Keith Urban, The Nashville Jazz Orchestra, the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, the MJT Project, and many, many others. He has backed many artists live from Aretha Franklin to Henry Mancini to Lou Rawls to — well, no sense dropping names and boring everyone. For example, two different contractors, one in Kentucky and one in Tennessee, hired him to play with The Temptations on consecutive nights in two different cities, eliciting a quizzical, blinking look form the road-weary conductor (“Didn’t I just see you in Kentucky?…”). He is in demand for recording and live work, from orchestral to Broadway to jazz to rock to country to whatever looks like a chance to play good music with friends.!
