Scheduled for a summer 2008 grand opening, the Cumberland Culinary Center will be located off Tennessee Boulevard in Lebanon, adjacent to the vocational learning center at Lebanon High School. The 2,400-square-foot facility will house a commercial kitchen and storage space intended to serve area entrepreneurs and farmers as well as local students.
The Cumberland Culinary Center, under the direction of Kitchen Manager John Cook, will aid entrepreneurs in producing, promoting and packaging their products in conjuntion with a focus on locally grown and produced products in conjunction with the
Pick Tennessee Products initiative.
The Cumberland Culinary Center is pleased to have garnered the support of the
U.S. Department of Agriculture, the
Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Cumberland University, the
Wilson County School System, Sue Sykes of
Tennessee Gourmet, State Rep. Stratton Bone, the
Lochinvar Corporation and many others. The Cumberland Culinary Center was the recipient of grant monies from the United States Department of Agriculture and funds from the Tennessee Agriculture Enhancement Program.
