- When can I sign up for a Dawgs Days Registration session?
Dawg Days Registration invitations will be mailed in April to all first-time freshman applicants who have been accepted to C.U. After receiving the Dawg Days invitation, students can select their session by either reserving a session online, OR by mailing their response to the Admissions office:

- I’m a Transfer student. Do I need to come to a Dawg Days Registration session?
No. Once you have been accepted to C.U. you will receive an official transfer evaluation. This transfer evaluation will contain information identifying your assigned Academic Advisor and your transferable coursework. It is your responsibility to schedule an appointment with your academic advisor to prepare a fall schedule.
- Will I be able to get a good schedule of classes if I come to one of the later Dawg Days sessions?
There is no way to predict which classes will be available at registration throughout the summer. However, the most popular classes for first-year students – English and Math in particular – tend to be carefully monitored throughout the summer to make sure there is adequate space. Those departments will open new class sections if they see the need to create more room for new students. While there may be a wider variety of class options at earlier sessions, it’s actually possible that someone at a later Dawg Days session may get to choose from options that weren’t available earlier in the summer. The “perfect” schedule may not be available, but all students should be able to register for a full load of classes that will fulfill their core curriculum and degree requirements. New students should be prepared to be flexible and should not rule out registering for classes that begin as early as 8 a.m. or late in the afternoon. It’s more difficult to predict class availability for transfer students. Students who are not satisfied with their schedule can change during the fall semester during the Drop/Add period.
- What will we do at Dawg Days?
You will make your class schedule for the Fall Semester, you will meet some of your incoming Freshmen classmates and some current CU students and you will participate in some fun, student activities!
- Where and when do I report on the day of my assigned Dawg Days Registration session?
Your day will begin with Dawg Days check-in on the front steps of Memorial Hall. On the morning or your Dawg Days, arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m., and registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
- What time will I be finished with Dawg Days?
During the afternoon portion of your Dawg Days session you will have an appointment with our Student Financial Services office. Once you have completed your appointment with Student Financial Services your session will be complete, and most of these appointments should be completed by 3:00 p.m. You will also have the opportunity to meet with a representative from our Business office during your Dawg Days session.
- What should I do if my plans change and I need to switch to another Dawg Days session?
Dawg Days sessions are assigned on a first come, first served basis, and it’s not always possible to assign students to their first choice. However, if you do need to change sessions call the Admissions office at (615) 547-1224 or email us at
ppope@cumberland.edu
- What if I can’t attend any of the schedule sessions?
If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled Dawg Days sessions, you should call the Admissions office at (615) 547-1224 for instructions.
- Do I need to bring my final high school transcript with to Dawg Days?
No. The CU Admissions Office needs to receive a copy of your final high school transcript by the beginning of fall semester. It will be checked to verify that you completed your high school curriculum and graduation requirements. Your eligibility to register for classes at Dawg Days will not be affected by the submission of your final high school transcript. However, to make sure we receive the transcript prior to fall semester, you may want to make the transcript request of your counselor prior to graduation. Many schools will not be able to complete your request in time if you wait until mid-summer.
