The Lady Dawgs won the Mid-South Conference Championship in 1997 and 2001. They also went to the Regional Tournament in 1997, 2001 and 2002. The team has benefited greatly from the hard work, talent and discipline of its players and the continuity of great leadership from Coach Junior Hawkins.

Junior Hawkins begins his 19th season at the helm of the Lady Dawgs softball team. As head coach, Hawkins has a 342-258 overall record. Coach Hawkins has two sons, Gregg and Darren.
