Jake Roberts

Jake Roberts enters his third season at Cumberland, serving as the coach for running backs, tight ends and special teams.
 
Roberts was a four-year starter at University of the South, where he holds numerous offseason records and kicked the second-longest field goal (47 yards) in school history.
 
Roberts began his coaching career in 2006 at Cass High School in Cartersville, Ga. He was the assistant special teams coach and assistant defensive backs coach. Roberts came to Cumberland in 2007 and served as a graduate assistant for the football team. He received his master’s of Arts in Education in January 2009.
 
During his time at CU, Roberts has coached one All-American, two Mid-South Conference West All-Conference players and three MSC West Academic All-Conference players. Under the direction of Roberts, the Bulldogs were fourth in the nation in punt yards per attempt in 2008.
