Coach Woody Hunt begins his 26th season as the head coach of the Bulldogs and 29th season overall. He served three years as an assistant on the Bulldogs staff prior to taking over the head coaching position.

Coach Hunt has amassed an overall record of 1043-431-3 as the head coach of the Bulldogs. With his 1000 th career win, Coach Hunt becomes one of only six head coaches to ever win more than 1,000 games in the NAIA. With his passion for the game and his desire to help make young people successful in life through the game of baseball, Coach Hunt has moved the Cumberland University Baseball program into one of the top NAIA baseball programs in the country, winning the NAIA National Championship in 2004.

Under Coach Hunt's leadership, the Bulldogs have won four district championships, four Southeast Regional Championships, four Mid-South Region Championships, fifteen Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference and Mid-South Conference Regular Season Championships , and two Super Regional Championships. Coach Hunt has also led the Bulldogs to eight NAIA World Series (1988, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2004, and 2005), and the 2004 NAIA National Championship.

Coach Hunt is a six time Southeast Region Coach of the Year (1988, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2004,and 2005). He has also been a finalist for the National Coach of the Year Award three times. Coach Hunt has also seen 68 of his former players sign professional baseball contracts , and has coached 45 NAIA All-Americans.
