Sixth Year
Danna Johnson begins her sixth year at Cumberland University as the Athletic Training Education Program Clinical Coordinator and instructor in the ATEP program. It is Johnson’s second stint with CU after serving as the Head Athletic Trainer and ATEP Coordinator from 1998-01.
The Carthage, Tenn., native also graduated from Cumberland in 1997 with a bachelor’s in Physical Education with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. She received her master’s in Kinesiology with an Athletic Training emphasis in 1998 from Indiana.
After serving three years at CU and with the assistance of the Wilson County School System and University Medical Center, Johnson accepted a first time teacher/athletic trainer position at Wilson Central High School in 2001-02. She covered DeKalb County High School from 2002-05 and Watertown High School in 2005-06 for University Medical Center.
The former Danna Armour graduated from Smith County High School in 1993 and currently lives in Alexandria, Tenn., with husband Nathan, also a CU alumnus and current head athletic trainer at Friendship Christian School in Lebanon. The couple has two sons, Michael and Alex.
