What Does It Mean To Support Cumberland University?

Becoming a Proud Supporter of Cumberland University gives you the opportunity to be a part of the excitement and energy that surrounds CU.  By showing support for YOUR hometown university, you not only create a sense of pride in the community, but you also show our students, faculty, and staff that you value higher education.  One could not ask for a better way to welcome new and returning students to Cumberland each year than for the community to show their support in them.  Will you join the cause and proudly display  support for YOUR hometown university?

How Do I Show My Pride in CU?

It's quite simple actually.  By making a $10 donation to the Annual Fund at Cumberland University, you will receive your own "Proud Supporter" sign to display in your yard, your window, or at your business.  Not only will you be showing the community that you support the university, but you will also show CU students that you stand by them as they strive for their goals.

There are more ways to show your pride in Cumberland University: You can attend sporting events, see a play, come to a concert and if you are a business, you can offer discounts to CU Students, Faculty, and Staff.
 

Why Should I Support Cumberland University?

Because CU is proud to be a part of our community. The community is a key point in selling CU to prospective students, corporations, foundations, and other donors. When we talk to prospective students, we tell them about the hometown, friendly atmosphere of our community. We inform them of how our community offers a hometown lifestlye, but still gives you the opportunity to experience city life in just a short drive.  We talk about the family atmosphere and the safe environment; the amazing cultural aspects that continue to grow; and the wonderful parks and attractions in the area. But we also stress the support we receive from the community and the people who live here which include over 3,000 Cumberland University alumni in Wilson County alone. Students always receive a warm welcome from the people and businesses in the community upon their arrival.

Where Do I Get My "Proud Supporter" Sign?

There are a few ways you can acquire your "Proud Supporter" sign:
  • Stop by the Catron Alumni House anytime between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, to pick one up.
  • Make a $10.00 donation by check for a "Proud Supporter" sign
    • Made payable to "Cumberland University"
    • Cumberland University, Attn: Joyce Alcorn, One Cumberland Square, Lebanon, TN 37087
    • If you live in Wilson County, we'll deliver the sign to your yard!
  • Donate online through our Secure Giving Site
    • Select "Proud Supporter Sign" in Gift Designation
    • Under Donation Amount, Select "$10.00 for Proud Supporter Sign"
    • If you live in Wilson County, we would be happy to deliver your sign to you!
    • Outside of Wilson County?  You can pick up your sign at the Catron Alumni House or we can ship it to you (for an additional cost of $12.00 via USPS which includes packaging)
      • Just indicate to us in the Comments section whether you want to pick up your sign or have it mailed to you.  We will confirm your selection with you via e-mail.
