One could not ask for a better way to welcome new and returning students to Cumberland each year than for the community to show their support in them. It's quite simple actually. By making a $10 donation to the Annual Fund at Cumberland University, you will receive your own "Proud Supporter" sign to display in your yard, your window, or at your business. Not only will you be showing the community that you support the university, but you will also show CU students that you stand by them as they strive for their goals.
There are more ways to show your pride in Cumberland University: You can attend sporting events, see a play, come to a concert and if you are a business, you can offer discounts to CU Students, Faculty, and Staff.
Because CU is proud to be a part of our community. The community is a key point in selling CU to prospective students, corporations, foundations, and other donors. When we talk to prospective students, we tell them about the hometown, friendly atmosphere of our community. We inform them of how our community offers a hometown lifestlye, but still gives you the opportunity to experience city life in just a short drive. We talk about the family atmosphere and the safe environment; the amazing cultural aspects that continue to grow; and the wonderful parks and attractions in the area. But we also stress the support we receive from the community and the people who live here which include over 3,000 Cumberland University alumni in Wilson County alone. Students always receive a warm welcome from the people and businesses in the community upon their arrival.
