The Cafe

A defining element of The Campaign for Cumberland University is The Cafe -- a 14,000 square foot facility that will be capable of accommodating the needs of residential and commuter students and will enhance the sense of community for students, faculty, alumni and neighbors. This facility will enhance student life on campus by fostering new friendships, social activities and providing entertainment for our students and the community as well as providing short-and long-term benefits for space, growth, student recruitment and retention.

The new Cafe will build a sense of community that will bind people together in ways they'll always remember.  Located at the heart of the Cumberland campus, The Cafe will offer much more than a place to eat.  It will also:

  • give students a place to meet or catch the latest in live music, comedy, poetry readings, and more;
  • feature second-floor meeting areas -- an invitation for local, state and national groups of every kind to gather; and
  • house campus radio station 91.5 WFMQ-FM, which is set to increase wattage and broadcast Cumberland news to Davidson County and beyond.
