GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Rudy Wellness Center is a wellness based health care clinic offering minor illness and injury services for the students, faculty, and staff of Cumberland University. The Center is located in the Rudy House on the northeast corner of the campus. It is staffed by nurse practitioners under the medical guidance and support of a local primary care physician. The Center provides services Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (no summer hours). In cases of emergency, clients should dial 911 or visit the local emergency room at the University Medical Center.


PURPOSE/VISION/MISSION
The center was established in 2011 through the collaboration and support of Mrs. Jeanette C. Rudy, benefactor of the Rudy School of Nursing at the University. The vision of the Rudy Wellness Center is to promote wellness and meet the minor illness needs of the University community, thereby improving the “overall health” of the Wilson County community. Health promotion activities and wellness education are a major focus of the Center.


SERVICES OFFERED
Services will be provided during the regular fall and spring semesters when classes are in session. Limited services will be provided during the summer term. Services will not be available on weekends, holidays and during scheduled semester breaks.

The following services will be provided:  

1.     Consultation, treatment and referrals

2.     Urgent care for minor illnesses and injuries

3.     Health assessments

4.     Allergy shots

5.     Immunizations

6.     Over the counter medications for minor illnesses

7.     First aid services

8.     Health counseling and information services
    a. Diet/nutrition/weight management

    b. Community agency information and referrals

    c. Mental health referrals

 9.   Lab services

The services provided are not intended to replace the services of a primary care provider.

SERVICE FEES
 $20.00/visit; cash, check or credit/debit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discovery) with payment to be made prior to each visit. No billing of insurance will be practiced at the Center.

Additional fees will be charged for the following services:
          Pelvic exams and Pap test
          Lab services
          Supplies/medications
          Injections/allergy shots/immunizations
