Cumberland University’s online MAE - Teaching and Learning Program is primarily designed for licensed teachers, but may also be appropriate for unlicensed teachers not seeking licensure. Cumberland University’s online MAE - Teaching and Learning Program is primarily designed for licensed teachers, but may also be appropriate for unlicensed teachers not seeking licensure. The Online MAE can be completed in 36 semester-hours if taken full time. Though coursework in the program is primarily delivered on-line, Field Experiences are required in many courses that will necessitate visiting schools during school hours for observations and instructional activity.
“If you do not have a teacher’s license, but are interested in gaining a teacher’s license through a Master of Arts in Education degree at Cumberland, please note:
- Candidates for a teacher’s license who wish to student teach must be accepted to the MAE – Teaching and Learning program Track II. There are different admissions requirements for Track II candidates.
- Candidates for a teacher’s license through the Tennessee Transitional License will be in the MAE – Teaching and Learning program Track III. There are different admissions requirements for Track III candidates.
